Bridging Years Curriculum for Nursery, Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2

The Bridging Years enhances on what the children have been exposed to in Jump Start Years and introduces learning experiences to develop children’s various intelligences as identified in the following areas: –

• Language & Literacy
• Motor Development
• Mathematical Thinking
• Self & Social Awareness

The curriculum is carried out in a conducive learning environment where children are given opportunities to explore and extend their learning using various learning centres. This helps to cultivate a positive ‘I can learn’ in attitude among the children. The activities, materials and games in the learning centres are specially designed to engage children in their thinking and active learning. This helps support the planned lessons, reinforces the concepts by revisiting, and promotes self-directed, independent and co-operative play and learning.

School Readiness Programme for transit to Primary 1

The School Readiness Programme for Kindergarten 2 children is a holistic approach designed specially to help the children transit smoothly from pre-school to the formal system in Primary School. The School Readiness Programme will emphasise on academic achievements and help nurture and prepare the children for the social and emotional adjustments that they will face in the Primary One school setting.

These experiences will help children for the SEED programme – Strategies for Effective Engagement and Development programme that has been introduced in Primary 1.

1. Teaching Staff.  The teaching staff really put in a lot of effort in teaching the kids. This can be seen from the Xmas party celebration, where the results can be seen from the kids’ performance. Thanks to the teachers and branch director, they organised the events very well.
2. Hygienic Environment.  The centre is in hygienic condition as regular sanitization of the place is done with Swisher Anti-Bacterial Treatment (SWAT).
3. Rundown Vs Cheap Pricing.  Although the centre was open in October 2010, it looks rundown. There were some renovations going on when the comment was received. Do check out the condition of the place now. However, the pricing is only $700 (with early bird and sibling discount). This should be one of the best bargain for Cherie Hearts Childcare Centre, which share the same curriculum.
4. Location.  The location of this centre is a little inaccessible from public transport. It is on top of the hill or teresa church.
